Twelve.

Dress: Target Jacket: Levi's Sandals: Target Necklace: Forever 21

I'm pretty sure my camera is dying a slow, obnoxious death.  On the one hand, it's fine, because it's a crappy camera and I have had it for almost 6 years.  On the other hand, I'm bummed because...no camera?!  Oy.  Luckily, I found a self-timer app for my iPhone, and I wound up taking today's pictures on my phone!  Believe it or not, it's easier for me to take a details shot (like the one above) with my phone than with my camera!  I thought it was really slick to take photos today, so I'm going to try this out for a while.  I'll play with the settings a little bit and editing, etc., but so far, I am a fan.

Tonight, my parents and brother are driving down to our place for dinner and to see our university's production of Spamalot!  I'm so excited - I love musical theater, and Spamalot is so hilarious!  Kevin and my mom haven't seen it before, and I can't wait to get their read on the show.  Plus, our university's theater department is awesome.  They do more shows in a school year than any other school in the country!

I hope you all have a great weekend!  Who's doing something exciting?

Shirt: Old Navy Shorts: Old Navy Sandals: Target Necklace: Made by my friend!

Oops, sorry for yet another janky photo.  I took this after a day full of work and class, so my pants are wrinkled, my hair looks pretty bad, and I'm sporting some super cute bags under my eyes.  I wanted to make sure I got a post up for the 30x30, though!

Have you guys heard of this app called Helium Booth?  Maybe I'm super late to the party, but my friend Megan just showed it to me and I'm absolutely hooked.  Basically, the app takes videos, and it makes you sound like you've inhaled a ton of helium (mouse mode) or it lowers your voice in an opposite way (bear mode).  I can't stop taking these videos and sending them to my friends and family or just laughing until I cry.  Here are a few of my favorites:

Me singing "No Scrubs"

My brother singing "Blue Moon"

My response to a video my cousin sent me - my ridiculous giggle!

And...since I'm 6 years old at heart, a story I told Kevin involving farts.

Tee: Target Skirt: Target Sandals: Target Necklace: Gift

Happy Monday!

Today is the first day of my last summer class, and I'm actually really excited about it.  My professor wrote the textbook that we're using, and he also happens to be my advisor and favorite professor, so it will be a great class!  I also start back up with working again after a lovely week off, and while I'm bummed that my break is up, I'm really excited to see the staff I work with again.  Supervising 18 college students is a challenge sometimes, but they make me laugh so much and I love watching them grow as leaders.

Today's outfit, believe it or not, is a little bit of a stretch for me.  This skirt has no purple in it, so to be wearing a purple tee with it feels weird!  I usually dress so literally and matchy.  Part of what I wanted to get out of this challenge, however, is pushing myself to dress outside of my comfort zone a little bit, and I'm taking little baby steps along the way.

Casual Friday

Top: Target Jeans: Old Navy Sandals: Target Long necklace: F21 Heart necklace: My grandma's

There is really nothing to say about this outfit - it's essentially jeans and a tee, but it's comfortable and cute and it totally works for a Friday :)

We have a fun weekend planned.  Tonight, we're going to a dinner theater in the Twin Cities to celebrate my dad's birthday.  I'm a huge musical theater lover, so I'm pretty excited to get to see a musical tonight...plus, I get some good family time!  Remember a month ago when I said we were going to foster a puppy?  Well...we absolutely fell in love with her, and have decided to adopt her.  Tomorrow, we finalize the adoption and we couldn't be more excited to have her join our family permanently!  Her name is now Rooney, so follow me on Instagram (brynn_mcconnell) if you want some Pippin + Rooney pictures!

Rooney and me this afternoon.  She was watching ants crawl around on the sidewalk...

100% Target

Tee: Target Skirt: Thrifted, Target Scarf: Target Sandals: Target

Hmm, seems fitting that during the We Love Target challenge I would be wearing a 100% Target outfit...

Today's challenge item is an accessory!  I recently bought this scarf since I needed some fun, colorful, lightweight scarves for the summer.  I love wearing light scarves in warmer weather because they don't make me too hot outside (and if I do get too hot, they can fold up nice and small in my purse), and they add a little extra warmth in the air conditioning.  I love the bright colors in this scarf - I'm usually drawn to neutrals and more muted, cool colors, but I love red, pink, and coral (especially to spice up a neutral outfit!) and this scarf has it all!!

I know that denim skirts are not the most fashionable, but I really love this one.  Since I dislike wearing shorts, this skirt acts as a shorts substitute of sorts (say that 5x fast...) during the summer months.  I feel most comfortable and confident in a skirt or dress, so this is a pretty standard outfit for me.

I'm linking up with Along the Lines of Style today for the We Love Target challenge hosted by her and Literate & Stylish.

(Excuse my hair today...it is especially voluminous today...)

Polka Dotted Skirt

Tee: Target Skirt: Target Denim jacket: Levi's Sandals: Target Belt: Thrifted Necklace: Old, no idea...

I've had this skirt for a few months now, but haven't worn it yet.  I really like the length, the flowy material, and the almost-polka dots.  I decided to keep it simple for the first time I wear it, with just a plain white tee and necklace.  Since it's a bit chilly today, I also wanted to wear my denim jacket.

I had to wake up at 4:30 this morning to take our foster pup up to Minneapolis to get spayed.  Needless to say, I'm feeling a little draggy today.  I'll be heading back up to Minneapolis this afternoon to pick her up, too...so I'll need some good tunes on my iPod to keep me awake!! :)

I'm linking up with Along the Lines of Style for the Target Challenge today!!

The Best Floral Skirt EVER.

Tee: Old Navy Skirt: Target Necklace: F21 Sandals: Target

So I was really stressed out the other day and instead of choosing to stress-eat, I decided to go to Target and look at the clearance racks.  This floral skirt was on the 30% off rack and only set me back $15, and I totally love it.  The colors are perfect and summery, it has an elastic waistband (comfy!!), and it has POCKETS.  I love it.  Today I wanted to keep it simple with just a plain white tee and a necklace.  I'm looking forward to wearing it with colorful shirts, my chambray shirt, my new coral blazer (that should be coming soon!!), etc.  I definitely think you'll be seeing a lot of this skirt over the next several months.

We just began training our summer staff yesterday, and I'm already super tired.  I'm an introvert, and while I enjoy being around other people, it is exhausting.  I have to be to campus early in the morning and stay later than I'm used to, so by the time I come home, I just want to lay quietly on the couch snuggling with Kevin and the dogs.  I anticipate that I'll be watching a lot of Netflix (my favorite way to relax and decompress) in the coming days...

Five Days, Five Ways: Teal Pants

It's the second day of Fran and Whitney's Five Days Five Ways challenge!  Today's challenge is to find multiple ways to wear a pair of pants.  I'm choosing to remix these teal pants.

Honestly, I completely forgot that I had these pants.  I bought them a while back at TJ Maxx after searching and searching for a pair of colored denim.  I wore them once with a chambray shirt in October, and had it in my head that they didn't fit me and were not flattering.  I was searching through my closet to decide what pants to wear for this challenge, and I found these again.  I put them on, and they fit, so I decided they would be the perfect pants to use for today!

Tee: Target Sandals: Target Necklace: From Mom

This is exactly the kind of outfit I can't wait to wear!  Spring better come soon, because I'm getting antsy to wear my tees and sandals!  I thought this was a nice, casual outfit - perfect to wear on the weekends, or out for lunch with friends.

Shirt: Old Navy Wedges: Payless Necklace: F21

I would wear this outfit out on a date.  I'm not thrilled with the way this shirt photographs - in real life, it's a great dark gray color.  I also don't like this necklace with the outfit.  I think it might look better with a shorter necklace, or more of a pendant-type necklace.  I love the way these pants look with my new wedges, though!

Sweater: Old Navy Boots: Target Necklace: Birthday gift from parents

I would wear this outfit to work, or on the weekends.  I've struggled a little bit about what to wear with this sweater (it's a black cable knit sweater, why is it so hard to wear?!), but I think they look great with these pants!  I also think I could have worn this outfit with a scarf (maybe leopard print?) and it would look great, too.

Shirt: Old Navy Cardigan: Thrifted Eddie Bauer Flats: Thrifted new Target stock

Here is another springy outfit - very colorful!  I'm not usually one to wear lots of colors like this, but I thought I would push myself a little bit.  I've worn this shirt and cardigan together before, but usually only with regular denim.  These jeans are colorful but not too wild, so I think they go nicely together.  I also rolled up the pant legs a little bit for a more casual vibe.

Tank: Old Navy Blazer: Old Navy Flats: Payless Necklace: Birthday gift from parents

This is an outfit I would wear to work.  I really love teal and black together, and while I could have worn a solid colored tank or blouse, the stripes add a little visual interest.  I could also swap the blazer for a cardigan for a similar (perhaps slightly more casual) look.

There you have it!  My five ways to wear teal skinnies :)  What look do you like best?
