YOU GUYS.  I did it - I took a picture outside.  The quality is terrible (boooo, old camera) and it took a little bit of tweaking to get my whole body in the shot, but I did it!  I was so paranoid the whole time that someone would walk by...does the paranoia ever go away?!

Also, this is my 50th post on The Original Brynn!  I absolutely love blogging so far.  I've been into personal style for years now, but documenting it on the blog is so much fun.  It's been great getting to know other bloggers and readers through this journey as well, and I'm so excited to see where this takes me!

Casual Pearls

Today's neglected pieces from Kate's No Longer Neglected challenge are my cardigan and my necklace.  I've had this cardigan for years, and I really like it.  However, I find it hard to style.  It's navy with white stripes, and so far the only things I've ever paired it with are gray and white...exactly what I did today...

The necklace was a Forever 21 purchase I made about a year and a half ago.  I really like the dark gray color of the pearls.  The reason this necklace gets neglected so often is because I feel like it's super dressy.  I tried it with today's casual outfit, but I don't really know if it works or not.

Happy Monday!   I hope you all had a good weekend.  I went home to my parents' house for the weekend for the first time since Christmas!  We celebrated my brother's birthday on Saturday (and watched Pitch Perfect...again), and on Sunday, I had a 3-hour lunch with my best friend.  It was a great weekend, but now I have a ton of work to do for school.

I bought these purple tights at Target for a steal a while ago, but I haven't worn them until today.  I was going through my tights collection and found these, still in the packaging, in the bottom of my drawer.  Apparently, I really like to start my weeks with patterned or colorful tights (I've worn all these outfits on Mondays).  My coworkers always comment on my fun tights and say how excited they get to see them.  It's only natural I'd wear this purple pair this Monday.

Valentine's kisses from Pippin!

Happy Valentine's Day!  I'm not a huge Valentine's Day celebrator, but I do enjoy the excuse to have a date with Kevin and wear pink, and the cheap candy tomorrow isn't all that bad either :)  I have class tonight, so we're going to have a late date and go get some frozen yogurt.

When I was taking pictures today, Pippin kept wanting to get in them.  She would sit at my feet and just stare at me.  I picked her up for one of the pictures, and right as the timer went off, she went in for a smooch!  Stinker.

Picky Purple

You can't really tell in this picture, but my cardigan and flats are a rich plum color.  Purple is my favorite color, but I don't often wear it.  I'm super picky about what hues of purple I wear.  I pretty much stick to the darker plum and eggplant shades.  [Is that weird?  Tell me you're picky about your shades of color, too...]

I'm so happy it's Friday!  I have a whole lot of nothing planned this weekend.  Hopefully, I'll get to spend some good quality time with Kevin, and I'm hoping to grab coffee with a friend who I haven't chatted with in far too long.  What are you all up to this weekend??
