So, I don't love this photo (ew, legs), but I'm all about being real on my blog...so this is what I wore today!  It's another pretty simple shorts + cardigan outfit, but when you wake up at 5:00 am and forgot to plan an outfit, it's tried and true, you know?

While most of my classmates are showing up to our summer classes in a t-shirt with yoga pants, athletic shorts, or jeans, I feel really weird doing that.  Maybe that worked in undergrad classes, but I feel like I need to look at least somewhat put together when I'm at class.  I concentrate better and am more productive when I look nice.  Thus, I wear outfits like this, and stand out like a sore thumb.  Oh well.  Is that just me?

Thank you all for you insights about friendships from yesterday's post.  I enjoyed reading all your comments - and knowing I'm not the only one who has struggled with friendships post-marriage is comforting.  I haven't responded to your comments yet - but bear with me - I'll be responding by the end of the week, once my big paper is turned in :)

The next three days are supposed to be rainy/slushy/SNOWY all day.  I really wanted to wear my new scarf, but I also wanted a little bit of color in my outfit...so I went with the most obnoxiously colored item I have!  Also, with all the rain that's coming today, I picked the wrong shoes.  I'll be wearing boots tomorrow!!

Today is a special day in our family - it's Pippin's Gotcha Day, the day we took her home with us!  We celebrate by spoiling her a little bit more than normal, spending lots of time playing and snuggling, and giving her a huge rawhide.  Two years ago today, we picked her up from her foster mom, and she's been making us laugh every day since.  We love our Pippin!

Exhaustion

What a week it has been.  Work and school are incredibly busy right now, and I'm running on fumes right now.  Luckily, it's March, which means that spring break is coming soon!  I am so, so ready for a little break!!  I didn't sleep well at all last night which means I had little energy for choosing an outfit.  I went with a tried and true formula: tank/tee with a cardigan, skinny jeans, and boots.  Nice enough for casual Friday at work, but comfortable enough for 4 hours of class this afternoon.

I'm hoping I can rejuvenate a little bit this weekend, although I have 9 hours of class tomorrow and I have to work on Sunday for 4 hours.  What are you all planning for this weekend??

Back in high school and college, I dressed pretty much exclusively in bright colors.  My bedroom was bright orange, and I always had colorful backpacks, purses, and shoes.  In the past few years, I've been drawn to more neutral and muted colors.  Today, I decided to go back to my roots and grab a lime green cardigan to keep warm rather than the black blazer I originally intended on wearing.  I like to be a little bit unpredictable on occasion!

Also, you should know that I started off my day in the best possible way: dance party for one to the tunes of Ms. Britney Spears.  Sometimes, you just need to dance.
